IBS and Laparotomy

Hi, I am going in for a laparotomy surgery on monday to remove a cyst from my ovary. I will be having a general anaesthetic, What I would like advice on is weather the operation will have an impact on my IBS? thanks for any advice.

Welcome to the IBS community!  The surgery could cause your bowels to stop working for a short period of time, but this should recover on its own.
