IBS and diet

I am 62 year old female.  I was recently diagnosed with IBS (diarrhea) which is brought on by even the slightest anxiety.  I have been reading about soluble fiber diets for IBS.  I have tried to follow a high soluble diet but it doesn't seem to help.  My question:  does diet affect IBS if it's brought on by anxiety?

I've had IBS my whole life.  Yes, diet matters.  I have IBS-C and certain foods cause me definite problems.  Gluten and dairy are the big ones.  Not the only ones, but the big ones.  I can experience cramping shortly after eating something with gluten and I will notice a change that lets me know that I'm going to experience constipation.  I can't describe that sensation, but I do feel something in my bowels that tells me I'm going to suffer constipation.  I also have GAD, so I must do a balancing act of keeping my stress and anxiety levels down and sticking to my diet and avoiding known triggers.  This is important, since many of the triggers for my IBS/GERD also trigger my migraines.
