IBS and high Blood pressure

ok, does not happen everytime maybe once or twice a year but yesterday was a ibs day could not go than was running to make it, last time i went i had a headack and cills than i could hear my heart beat in my ears my head felt like it was going to explode, not sure buit think it sends my blood pressure way high. scared will die or have a stroke anyone elsa have this and what do you do id you do, thanks

Yes, sometimes people have a higher blood pressure at the doctors office due to the stress of going tothe doctor.  Colonoscopies will not show IBS though.

true but when i take bp i get it high because of taking it , am one who has low bp until i go dr and than its high. so not sure how much will be high true bp or me pushing it up  when taking it because of scared of what it will be, went to reg dr yesterday for reg check-up got blood work done wants me have a colonaspiey( sp)   so have not had one in 7 years guess am due dont like the putting to sleep so i put it off but have had two in my life time. thats how they found IBS. thanks for talking will see what goes on go to my Cardio dr next thursday see what she says praying alls good and no problems :)

Yes, because it is happening so infrequently, I don't think you ned to worry about this much.  I thinking taking your blood pressure during one of these episodes would put your mind to ease.

i have a bp thing guess i need try it next time but it not do often so dont want to carry it everytime i go. but guess i can leave in there . its just strange and scarey when it happens thanks

Welcome to the IBS community!  If you suddenly have this stress of needing to get to the bathroom quickly, then this could raise your blood pressure.  This is most likely not at all dangerous, and I would guess that your blood pressure is not getting up high enough to cause any problems.  You can try buying an at-home automatic blood pressure cuff so that you can see what your blood pressure actually is.
