IBS

I had a bout of Diverticulitis in September. Took flagyl and cipro. Had colonoscopy in November and showed all healed, but had multiple diverticuli.  Since then I was told I have IBS and get frequent bouts of diaherra.
Since all of this happened, I get tenderness in my left colon area. My GI doc thinks it is from the IBS and That I have sensitivity still in the colon. He has put me on Bentyl and fiber.
I have also seen a colon-rectal surgeon and she agrees with him.
Any other ideas?

IBS is one of those diagnoses where not much is known about it.  It is likely that there are many unknown conditions that people have, who are diagnosed with IBS.  It can be caused by many many different things.  You can get better though.

I had some diarehha. Many movements as I am a vegetarian. Also, fecal incontinance. Much much worse since the DT in September. Saw my GP yesterday and also affirms that soreness in abdomen is common with IBS. Three doctors that have seen inside and out with same diagnosis :( Trying not to dwell on it and hope it eventually passes.
How does someone get through this? I am on anxiety meds but still crazy.

I am on Bentyl 2x daily and I still have problems. I have been having problems before September but the DT seems to have made things worse.

Does the Bentyl help?  Had you had any problems before September?

I have been on Florify for several months. My GI doctor says that I have a sensitive colon that is irritated by the IBS. It feels sore and sometimes twinges. Unfortunately, it is only on my left side and am told that it may never go away.

Welcome to the IBS community!  It sounds like you could have IBS.  You also might be having symptoms from being on antibiotics which killed off the good bacteria in your colon.  You might want to try going on a probiotic.
