Is this Classic IBS symptoms? Or something else?

Alright, I am at my wits end! I'm a generally happy person and I honestly feel depressed from all of this. It's been 3 months that 10 drs have no idea whats wrong with me. It  all started with pain in my very low left side. Almost a twisting/stabbing pain. Then it turned into a burning pain on the lower left side of my pubic bone.

Had an ultrasound, CT scan, MR, stool cultures, blood tests, pelvic exams, you name it. All negative. I went to a dr last week who took xrays and said I was constipated. I had taken Immodium about a week before though and I was betting on it just being from that.

Through it all, I've had diarrhea, but only in the mornings. Not straight diarrhea, but "I have to go now!" and my stools began with several pieces of round, hard stool and then behind it was all loose stool and comes out forceful. She gave me Miralax to take in big doses to clear myself out and told me to take it every day. Now a few days later, the problem I had before is back.

Does anyone know if this is IBS symptoms? And I've heard IBS is just a blanket term for an underlying problem. Truth to that? My life has been turned upside down. It's awful to start every morning this way. I have never cried so much in my life and just want an answer so I know what to do to treat it.  Thank you everyone...

I am sick of all the pain. I too have had just about every test done xray,  colonoscopy, ultra sound, on my kidneys ovaries, bladder, spleen, pancreas, endoscopy. I have taken Zantac,  had medication for inflamation, medication to rub on the site of the pain, I  can go from loose stools to very scanty stools one day to the next. i have asked advice fro various medical web sites, and still not gotten anywhere, I have had these pains that move around from the front to the back all around the left side of my body, sometimes it feels like my ovaries on the left side, but The Dr checked them out and said they were normal. then the pain seems to move and it feels like it is low down under my left rib cage. and in my back.. does anyone have any other suggestions. I'm so fed up always being in pain, it's 18 months since this started, right after I stopped taking Fluoxetine for depression.

I've been suffering with IBS for years (like 19yrs to be exact but not constantly...it does come and go).  I can be constipated one minute and have loose stools the next and often during the same bowel movement.  Mine also comes with nausea (especially in the am).  I've had pain so severe it woke me up in the early hours of the morning. My mood sets the pace of bathroom breaks...if I'm stressed or anxious, I can spend a good portion of my day in the bathroom.  Without being too graphic, I've noticed there is alot of yellow bile when my IBS is at it's worst.  Sorry, that's yucky. It's terrible, I know.  I have noticed coffee (caffeine) really agrevates it.  I also have a problem with lettuce...lettuce really starts the stomach a churning.  About 3 weeks ago, I went back to the Dr. and asked him to treat me and not the IBS.  He put me on Prozac.  My IBS, which had been flaring up terribly, has really eased up.  Let's hope it stays that way.

Me too...28 yo male, for almost a year now, ive had just about every morning, usually right when I wake up, 2-4 loose stools every day.  Its like its the new routine, just flipped a switch one day and now its like this.  I've been through the tests, and they came up with just IBS and some anxiety issues.  Doesnt matter what I eat, or if i drink coffee, or what, its always loose and more than once in the mornings.  11 months like this now, but i really get no pain or anything, just loose stools.  anyone else with type of change, and was told it was ibs?  I know pain is supposed to be a main symptom of almost every GI disorder?  Thanks
