Long term severe Flatulence, bloating and burping.

Now I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place as I have no clue of what my problem is defined as but here it goes anyway.

I am a 22 year old male, 5ft10, 11 stone, not on medication and generally healthy however for the past few years I have had this problem where I seem to have too much gas in my stomach which leads to burping, bloating of the stomach flatulence and a general uncomfortable feeling throughout by body. This has been an ongoing problem for the last few years like I say but something occurred in the last week and a half which was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back and I can't suffer silently anymore.

I recently started a job at a call centre and I have to talk a lot quite quickly which means I have to take deep breaths every so often, not so abnormal. But here's the problem, I took in a mere two deep breaths on Monday of last week and for the next 9 days up until now I have been burping and farting like crazy. And I don't just mean normal farts I mean going to the toilet and releasing excessive amounts of gas out of my a** to the point that one fart is sometimes lasting 20 seconds and I'm sat there just releasing gas for a solid 5 minutes, nothing else. Simply because I took in two deep breaths via my mouth. I should also add that my actual sh*t was almost diarrhoea like in the first few days when this happened though has improved slightly.

The burping is just as bad, since last Monday I have been burping non stop, there seems to be an endless supply of gas in my stomach waiting to be released either via my mouth or ***. There is no excruciating pain though there was some small pain in my abdomen about a week ago along with some blood in my sh*t which both seem to have receded as the situation gradually gets better. But I still don't feel completely right, a general uncomfortable, irritated feeling throughout my body.

I'm terrified to take a deep breath in with my mouth and have made a conscious effort not to for over a week in case this happens all over again. I haven't told anyone yet for years as it is so embarrassing. It is just such an odd problem that I am humiliated to talk about it. Like I say I don't know if I'm posting in the right place but I will be gracious if someone can point me in the right direction to get me out of this living hell.

You posted mainly details of the symptoms and very little about your dietary habits, lifestyle etc. which have more to do with your condition than the end results.
Just a couple deep breaths should not have been a factor in all this, however prolonged excessive air swallowing would be.
Nasal deep slow diaphragmatic breathing is recommended.
Visit the normal breathing website for details.
Be mindful when eating, take your time with every bite
and if you have any issues with stress and anxiety, they should be addressed.
Yoga, meditation, nature walks, calm environments, relaxing music etc. may be helpful.
I have made a mnemonic: BBBCC (full house with Bs and Cs,lol!) which stands for Beans, Broccoli, Bran, Cauliflower & Cabbage.
Add to this carbonated drinks like beer and soda and you have a comprehensive list of gas producing foods.
The carbonated drinks are obvious for gas.
The aforementioned foods contain carbs, which only get broken down in the colon by bacteria (cannot be fully broken down by enzymes in the small intestine)  and producing hydrogen and carbon dioxide.
Avoid those foods and also check for dairy intolerance,
(lactose intolerance, a lactase deficiency), however you can buy lactase supplements  to remedy this enzyme deficiency.
The other possibility is SIBO, Small Intestinal Bacterial
Overgrowth, for which you should see a Gastro-interologist.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Niko
