Mucus In Stool

Ok so occassionally I will have a small to moderate amount of mucus with my stools. I was just wondering if this is normal, or if anyone else has experienced this? I have been having some issues the last 2 days with vaginal bleeding between periods that I think may have been caused from intercourse, and when I went to use the bathroom today I had diarrhea and there was bright red blood in the toilet and on the tissue when I wiped....I'm not sure if this was just the vaginal bleeding or if I am also having rectal bleeding now. Any suggestions?

I have IBS-C, most of the time.  I don't think intercourse is an issue, but when you menstrate your hormones are at different levels than at other times of the month, so it's actually quite normal for a woman to have worsening IBS symptoms during this time of the month.  If you have breakthrough bleeding from menstruation and this isn't normal for you, though, I would recommend seeing your doctor or gynecologist about this.

If you're still seeing bright red blood in abnormal amounts and unsure of its source, I would recommend seeing your PCP.  You don't want to start having more problems with the rectal bleeding than what is normal for you.
