Nexium

Hi My name is Victoria Lockett. I am writing to you on the concern of my finace. He has had very bad stomach problems since we met 2 years ago and now is just getting worse. He has been having problems such as: Massive amounts of heartburn, bad indigestion, throwing up at times ( no blood ) and also always has gas 90 percent of the day. He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.I. some time in the begining of next month but with most of the doctors we see they do not care to look further into this and just listen to his symptoms and give him whatever and send him on his way. I really want him to get on the right track here and I really would like him to get the better help he deserves and needs. Please help if you can I am in desperate needs!!

Thank you very much.

I agree with snoozies43 about the diet but also have him tested for H-pylori for the heartburn.

Your best bet is to start a change in his diet.

No caffine, no alchohol...sugars..spicey foods...leafy letuce. and oils/grease. low sodium or none.

Start him on a very basic diet including fruits and vegetables. Vegetables cooked well.
Chicken, and low sodium pork. Homemade soups. wholegrain breads. He can eat as much as he likes. just don't over do it.

See how this helps him. Usually he can find out what combinations are bothering him.
Each person is different as to what they can tolerate.

Keep us posted and good luck. :O)
