Percentage of IBS sufferers who had capsule endoscopy
If you suffer from or have been diagnosed with IBS, have you had a cap endoscopy (preferable) or small bowel follow-through (second choice) to look at the small intestine?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Capsule endoscopy helps to visualize the entire gastrointestinal tract, but is not as uncomfortable as a colonoscopy. But no biopsies can be done with this procedure. While endoscopy and colonoscopy are not uncommon, the capsule endoscopy and small bowel series are less frequently performed. It is used for diagnosing small bowel disorders, crohn's disease and suspected irritable bowel syndrome. According to studies done, capsule endoscopy is very useful for the objective assessment of motility in IBS.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
