Ulcerative Colitis

After a colonoscopy I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Proctitis. That was two months ago, and I am still bleeding and getting cramping(bad) and Diarrhea. The Doctors tried Rowasa enema's first, then Hydrocortisone foam second, Sulfa-salazine third. Today a new doctor put me on Lopermide HCL and Hyoscyamine Sulfate, and stated that maybe I don't have Ulcerative Proctitis since none of the meds were working, these new ones should. I am getting freaked out, I explained to them several times that a few months ago, I had a problem with the same symptoms, and Prednisone took care of it in just a couple days time, but they refuse to prescribe me with Prednisone, WHY?

I have had the same problem for about 25 years on and off. Prednisone works better than anything else I have tried. It is always given to me in a decreasing dosage. I take Asacol as a maintenance drug as well. I hope this is helpful. I wish you luck and know that you aren't the only one that deals with this problem.
