Upsetting Bowel Movements

Three months ago I had my hemeroids removed.  Since the surgery, I have had fairly constant stomach upset, and have passed food in my bowel movements that was not digested.  I am also still having painful bowel movements.  I did not have the stomach issues before the surgery.  Is this typical?
