blood in stool

i hve ibs a for about 4 years now .ihave recently started taking lomotil i does help a little but i have noticed bright red blood in my stool .mostly its when ihave constipation i have trouble going to the bathrrom very hard tool and blood at the end .it had happened twice now in a month. should i go to a doctor or is it just because of tha hard stools
