thanks for your suggestion, i will go out tomorrow to see if i can find the box with the yellow and white, i just went on the internet to look up information on magnesium and calcium causing loose stools and one site said you cannot have calcium supplements without the magnesium but there are two kinds of mag, insoluable and soluable, so i will check out in the store.

thanks

It may have been me that told you about the caltrate but I didn't mention the colour of the box I don't think because I don't get the purple box...I get the yellowish white one that is vanilla flavoured.  It is Caltrate with vitamin D Soft Chews. I will list the Medicinal Ingredients:

Calcium Carbonate 1500mg providing elemental calcium 60 mg, and Vitamin D 10 mcg/400IU

That is what is listed on the wrapper.  I don't have the box anymore.  If there is magnesium in it then there is very little or it would have been mentioned on the wrapper.  It is definitely worth a try.  I like the vanilla chews better than the chocolate because the chocolate taste a little chalky to me compared to the vanilla, but that's a personal choice.

Thanks for letting  me know, i don't know what to do either, i need to calcium for my bones also, but i just came to realize that whenever i take a tums or rolaids or liquid antacid at night that the next morning my bowels are loose, and im finally fiquring it out that it must be because of the magnesium in it, so i guess ill have to search to find a calcium supplement that dosent have magnesium if thats possible, if i do i will let you know.

thanks

Maybe I spoke too soon!! I read the ingredients on the bottle and it read magnesium - not sure what to think about that, but it wasn't listed as one of the main ingredients.

Also not listed as one of the main ingredients - Talc!!
WHY the heck would Talc be in there - I thought Talc was bad! Now I am confused :-(

Hi crumy - how are you?

I just looked at my bottle of Caltrate and my bottle is pink and white. It doesn't have the magnesium in it. I got it because I had a total hysterectomy in February and I wanted it for my bone health. It will say right on the bottle for bone and colon health. It says Caltrate plus D.

If you didn't open the box or the bottle yet I don't see any reason why the store can't exchange it for the Caltrate you want.
