constant diareah from tonsilitis

can having a virus or tonsilitis (which i was just diagnosed with) cause constant bowel upset? i take 1 lomotil with 1 librax every morning and i am good for the whole day...it makes my bowels normal. but ever since i came down with tonsilitis the lomotil and librax dont work and im having horrible stomache aches that r waking me up in the middle of the night....im up for 3 hours on the toilet, its horrible, then im so exhausted the next day. no matter what i eat, even the brat diet, i still have the runs alll day. i know its not the anibiotic the doc gave me for the tonsilitis cuz the stomache problems started wen i started getting these really bad sore throats a week and a half ago. I feel really weak and exhausted from all this.
