Yes, but depression can make all of your symptoms worse.  Have you tried antidepressants before?  Why would you think they make the symptoms worse?

Welcome to the IBS community!  Have you seen a doctor about this?  Have you had any testing done?  What do you mean you are living a disturbed life?

hi.

yes i have seen many gastroentroligists for several years... i did endoscopy for 5 times, in 1st endoscopy duodenal ulcer, i used medicines advised by G.I doctors, 3 years ago i did 5th endoscopy which was normal, ulcer is healed. ( i have used colfac, debridate, lomotil, imodium (immodium), opmeprazol, esomeprazole, rifaximin h.pylori course, probiotics and many more antibiotics)now the problem is indigestion, heaviness in stomach, air in abdomen, no appetite, dont like to drink water, sticky paste like stool unable to pass easily. im living disturbed life becz, im very weak due to this problem, poor concentration, blur vision, low mood, no social life and depressed life, but im 100% sure i have no psychological problem it is all due to gastro problem.

It sounds like you might have some constipation due to not enough water intake.  I would recommend seeing someone about your depression, as this can make symptoms worse.  You could also be having problems because of all the antibiotics you took.

I am not saying that your IBS is caused by depression.  I am saying that it could be worsened by the dression that you have developed.  I would recommend that appointment with the psychiatrist.
