Did you ever get any help? I have had the same symptom of tightness under my rib cage for several months. I have seen multiple specialists (gastroenterologist, neurologist, spinal, pain). All of whom took me seriously and did multiple tests, but nothing showed up. I have tried all sorts of medications without relief. Also had steroid injections in my back which had no effect. The tightness is worse when I sit. It's driving me crazy. Any suggestions?
I am having a similar problem. I had a severe case of shingles around my left rib cage from my spine to my navel a little over a year ago. I have attributed the muscle spasms and aching in that area to permanent nerve damage causing the muscle spasms. It is really beginning to consern me, as it is accompanied by a swelling in my abdomenal area from my waist to under my breast area, the discomfort from which extends to my right side, also and is no longer localized to the area where I had the shingles. It makes me very fatigued and the achiness and spasms make it hard to walk or work at anything for more than a few minutes at a time. Any ideas?
I have the exact same symptoms as you, but no IBS. This uncomfortable feeling has been going on for two months now. It came on after I had salmonella. My doctor is also looking at me like I am nuts. Did you get a diagnosis? Has anything helped?
OMG! I am having the very same issues! The bra right on my stomach has been causing me so much stomach pain. I just had an abdominal ultrasound and a upper endoscopy. They only saw gastritis and gastronemis? i am scheduled for a colonoscopy (i have a history of polyps) and an upper gi. The dr. started me on nexium but i can't afford it. i got some prilosec and he put me on carafate and another stomach medication. nothing is helping! i am also having a problem with using the restroom. even with a laxative 3 days in a row I cannot go. the biopsy of my stomach was negative. i just started crying at my last visit cause i am so frustrated. the pain and nausea are terrible. every morning i want to vomit and have to take a phenergan. what else other tests have they done?
