Please, try not to worry about the procedure itself. This procedure will be much easier for you to go through. I didn't even have any difficulty with the anesthesia.
Try to relax this weekend the best you can as you prepare for the procedure. I felt the same way as you did about the colonoscopy until I went through it myself. Now, if I had to go through the test itself again, I would not fear the test itself. Try to do some things you like to do to take your mind off of things, because the test itself is really not so bad. Believe me, if tests ever have to be done again, I'm not about to let them do the Sygmoid test again, but I didn't mind the colonoscopy.
I understand your concerns, but this procedure isn't miserable, like the Sygmoid test is. Think of it as the perfect excuse to take a nap, because you won't notice anything until the nurse comes in to wake you up. :)
Hope this helps put your mind at ease.
Thanks for your comments, they really helped. I wont be under anesthesia, just heavily sedated so unfortunately I wont be out for the count. I am such a baby and i guess it is not being in control that bugs me. I remember having sedation for a dental procedure and was so dizzy throughout the whole procedure. Guess i am anxious the same thing happens. Would prefer to be out cold.
Happy Xmas and thanks again.
Thanks again for your comments, and believe me, if anyone is awaiting this procedure, all i can say is it was totally painless whereas the Sygmoid with no sedation was painfull. Best of luck to you all and Merry Xmas
