Have you tried some aloe vera gel that has been chilled in the refrigerator?  It is useful for many kinds of skin irritations.  The coolness from the aloe vera will help a lot for the burning caused from the irritated rectum.  This is the safest thing I know of for irritated skin.  Also, I would sleep without underwear to let air circulate.  This is usually recommended for other sensitivity issues south of the equator, too.
