86 year old mom newly on dialysis

My mom went on dialysis two weeks ago.  I was told by her dietitian that her creatinine level was 1.6 this past week.  If I am not mistaken that is what it was 3 months before they put her on dialysis.  Could it be possible for her kidney's to be functioning at an ok level to go off dialysis?  She hates going as she is in severe back pain while staying in the chair so long.  When they put her on dialysis the doc said her kidneys were failing 2% more each day that passed.  Which was at 10% when placed on dialysis.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Understand your predicament.

It could be that the creatinine levels are being maintained at that level due to the dialysis. So, depending on many parameters like creatinine and potassium levels the dialysis is planned. The levels are monitored at every visit.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
