Thank you for the response. My hematuria requires no dipstick; it looks like pink lemonade on good days and cranberry juice on bad days. I'm scheduled for the lithotripsy on 12 Sept. but the folks in ER seem to think the stone will pass soon; they mentioned 3 days. It's been a week. Perhaps it's still stuck in the ureter. I was just hoping it would pass soon and my urine would clear up so I would know all is well. Hoping for too much I suppose. I'll keep my pre-surgical appt. and lithotripsy appt.
Hello,
Most people with kidney stones will have blood in the urine .The urine may be pink or reddish, or the blood may be visible only with urine dipstick testing or microscopic examination of the urine. In people who do not pass kidney stone lithotripsy is the treatment of choice. It is indicated for stones 1 cm or less in the kidney and upper ureter. Contact your doctor if the haematuria is persisting. Persistent haematuria can lead to weakness, dizziness and hypotension. A medical evaluation is important.
Best wishes and regards!
