DLPA + Dialysis and Coumadin + other meds

Is it safe to take DLPA  for pain on dialysis while I'm on Coumadin (INR back to normal 2-3). I'm also taking regularly BP drugs (Cozaar, Carvedilol) and others: METOCLOPRAMIDE, QUALAQUIN 324MG, TRAZODONE, DOC-Q-LACE, RENAGEL 800MG, and, at the moment, Tramadol for severe joint and muscle pain, but it doesn't seem to work very well, so I'm willing to try DLPA that a friend of mine is bringing when he comes for a visit Thursday. I don't have an appointment with a rheumatologist until March 26 and I'm literally moaning when I have to use my hands (mostly the right one, left side  having been weakened by a 2004 stroke.. It's painful to even get a glass of water from tap or coffee from side-table next to couch (wrist has to be slightly twisted to reach them from the couch or the wheelchair and no money here to make house modifications), operate my power wheelchair, never mind lifting a half-gallon of milk or two quarts of water in a pan. Ysterday I picked some papers off the floor, desk and other areas as part of a cleaning effort but haven't pushed around a vaccuum so far in 4 weeks, it hurts so much. I went to bed and woke up with tremendous pain in my right arm which had recently also fallen victim to internal bleeding and swelling from a high INR (now INR back to normal and under control but the arm is still recovering from that shock in addition to the usual severe muscle and joint pain). Please help by answering the question of DLPA. Thank you,
Mark

I am sorry to hear of all of the suffering that you have from pain. As a hemodialysis nurse I am concerned that you are considering taking medication that is not prescribed for you. I am not familiar with DLPA at all, but one would worry about B/P issues while on treatment. Medications can do strange things to people while on dialysis and I would definetly want to run anything by my nephrologist first. Is your dry weight appropriate? Could you have aches and pains because too much fluid is being removed? These are all things that I recommend you discuss with your treatment nurse at dialysis. Good luck to you!
