Don't understand

I am 38 years old with 5 children.  I have a long history of back problems including 2 disc surgeries.  But this is different.  Sometimes I flare up but it only lasts a couple days.  I am going into day 14. I presented to ER with severe back pain on right side wrapping around to front. I had a catscan to check for stones. No stones. However I had White blood cells in my urine.  Urine culture came back negative.  Had a U/S for gall bladder. No stones.  Dr. went ahead and treated me for kidney infection.  now they say no kidney infection because culture was neg.  Antibiotics caused yeast infection.  They treated me for yeast infection.  Also saying they think I have pinched nerve and will do an MRI this week. Went back to dr still in pain and was running low grade fever.  Still had white blood cells in the urine. Again culture was neg.  Gave me a shot of cortizone in my hip and a 15 day script of prednizone.  5 days later, prednizone is helping back pain. Still occasional nag in the kidney area but not much.  STILL running a low grade fever and feeling weak and tired.  Dr. doesn't seem to have a clue.  Any ideas????  Need some peace of mind as to why 14 days later still having low grade fever. before off and on... now low grade fever more often.

Oooops I see you had a CT Scan.

My only other thought is that sometimes gravel can cause what you describe and not show up on tests.

Feel so bad for you ... I've had serious issues with a 2.0 mm stone but mine did show up on an CT Scan but not an X Ray, but was calcium oxalate -- go figure!

Did the Dr put you on a full course of antibiotics for your "kidney infection" or take you off when the culture was negative?  Many times stones can cause UTI's that don't show up positive.

Did they do a CT Scan?
