Foamy urine but negative protein and worried

For four days ago I was hit with alternatively sharp and dull pain in my back, approximately where my kidneys are.  Since then it has not been painful per se but I can feel a presences there. My urine then became bubbly or something to that effect.  Freaked out I went to my gp yesterday.  My dipstick test came back negative for protein.  My numbers were in the normal range for gravity and ph balance. Its color was a pale yellow. I am not really peeing any more or less.  My gp seelmed satisfied with the results and told me not to worry.  I am not so sure.

Thank you for the answer. I went back to my gp and found that from last week they sent my urine in for lab work.  They said there was not any evidence of a uti or anything wrong.  However it is now more than a week and my urine is still foamy.  They did another dipstick test and nothing was amiss.  My ph was 7 and my specific gravity was 1.005 which are both on the cusp of normal.  Basically their attitude was that only when, or if, protein pops up is there any reason to send my on to specialist.  Also my bowel movements are not what they should be for what I have been eating.

Hi,
What other symptoms are present? It is good that the urine test was fine and negative for infection. The back pain could be due to musculoskeletal issues or referred pain. If you have history of kidney stones, this may also be possible since they can recur.  Passing foamy urine now and then is normal and may be influenced by the speed of urination and other factors. However, if this persists, it is best that you have this checked for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
