Gadolinium Dyes and Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis

I know a friend who is suffering from side effects from several doses of the Gadolinium dye.
Is there a medical test available  for the damage caused (blood,skin/other) and the time it may remain in the body.

yes, there are tests. if your friend is having certain skin symtoms (symptoms)...which can be the worst type of GAD reactions...a dermatologist , who is familiar with gad toxicity is the best person to see. Family docs know nothing about gad. id advise NOT to go to the doc who ordered the gadolinium test.

Hi,

How is your friend? Gadolinium is an element that is used in a number of manufacturing processes and also in dyes that are used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). Gadolinium is usually removed from the body by the kidneys. However, in people who have kidney problems have kidneys that do not function properly and gadolinium may stay longer. Therefore, the risks of toxicity from the Gadolinium are greater and may develop nephrogenic systemic fibrosis or NSF. the time it remains may be dependent on the kidney function of the individual.

Gadolinium toxicity causes fibrosis of the skin and connective tissues throughout the body. Patients develop skin thickening that may prevent bending and extending joints, resulting in a person's decreased ability to move their joints.  Researchers found Gadolinium in skin biopsies of patients who were diagnosed with NSF/NFD. A referral to a dermatologist or to a specialist who is familiar with  gadolinium toxicity may help.

Take care and regards.
