IMHO
everyone needs to drink lots of water if the eGFR is low..
stop NSAIDs, lay off junk food (salt) de stress, (BP) and see what the next test is..
It is worth getting retested after being fully hydrated and not having eaten a heavy protein meal beforehand. Your eGFR might bump up a bit but it is impossible to say by how much.
I certainly hope you are under the care of a nephrologist. No need to freak out but you really want to see what is going on. High blood pressure? Diabetes? Prolonged NSAID consumption?
Best of luck!

I was diagnosed with CKD over 10 years ago, but my eGFR has gone from 46 to 36. My blood test shows no protein or blood in the urine. It was perfectly normal. Also my BUN/Creatnine ratio is normal, but my Creatnine level keeps going up.
I do not drink enough water, and I know I am constantly dehydrated. Will it get better if I hydrate more.
With a eGFR of 48 you should see a nephrologist to determine the cause of your kidneys' weak performance. High blood pressure and diabetes account for perhaps 70% of those suffering with poor kidney performance. You might belong among the other 30%. It is important for you to understand what may be wrong and avoid any further deterioration of kidney function.
Having said all this, I wouldn't panic. You are still a good distance away from kidney failure. On the bright side it is good you are catching this right now.
