I had a complete abdominal ultrasound and the report said that my right kidney was 12.4 cm and my left was 12.8 cm with a subtle region of abnormal echogenicity at the interpolar region. It also read that there was an underlying mass or scarring on the left kidney. Anyone know what this means? Also I am a 39 year old male with liver nash
I had kidneys masses myself and the next step for me was CT or MRI to get a better characterization of the lesion(s). You might discuss this option with your doctor. If he's neutral on whether it's needed or not, reducing your concern may help him chose to go ahead with the extra radiology work.
