High creatinine levels

by Smittymel, Aug 14, 2009 09:00PM
My doctor told me my creatinine level had gone up from 79 to 113.  I am a type II diabetic and being treated for high blood pressure 160/70 today.  Based on the research I have done, those numbers don't make sense to me.  I was told that this is serious and if it continues this way I would have to worry about dialysis.  What type of test would give results at this level and how high are those numbers/how worried should I be now.  Should I start seeing a specialist to address this problem?

Thanks

I don't understand those levels for creatinine.  My husbands level is 2.5 and the nephrologist told us that was 30% kidney function.
