Kidney Pain

Help is needed. I am in stage 4 CKD (eGFR=26). Today my right back is killing me when I stand on my right foot or try to walk. Pain is above hip in lower back. Sitting, no pain. Only when I stand up and put pressure on my right foot. What is going on? Kidney stone or infection?

As a follow up to this almost year old problem:  I saw my PCP and he aggressively treated my hypertension and put me on a Kidney diet (No more tomatoes, potatoes, spinach, etc) and my kidneys have returned to near normal. The only thing abnormal now is my Bun-Creatinine ratio, which is 1.9.  At this stage in my life I will take those numbers to the bank (I'm 75).

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? What other symptoms are present? Right back pain could be caused by musculoskeletal issues as well as infection. If there is history of kidney stone and you are a stone former, kidney stone is also possible. Urine test may help determine the underlying cause. If it persists, it is best that you talk to your attending physician about this for proper management. Take care and hope all is well. Do keep us posted and best regards.
