Kidney proteins and amyloidosis

50 year old male diagnosed with systemic primary amyloidosis, various organ involvement but mild cardiac involvement, 18 ms. ago; had stem cell transplant and is on Revlmid.  He has done well with treatment.  Before transplant his kidney proteins were 7,000.  Afterwards they stayed about 3,000.  Now, they are going up again and
are at 5,000.  But his bloodwork still looks okay.  Is the rise in kidney proteins a sign that the disease is progressing?
And will other things ,more than likely , began to deteriorate??
Thanks for any response.  Our Dr. is great, but his favorite phrase is "You will beat this".  We have 2 children and need
a realistic answer in order to prepare for whats ahead.
