My husband who just turned 60 and is a smoker recently had a kidney stone. We took him to the emergency room, while there they took and x-ray to confirm the stone. Anyway, when they came back they said there was some discoloration on one of his Kidneys and reccomended that he see his doctor when he recovered from the stone. Yesterday he went to the urologist and he said that there was a "mass on his kidney" and they wanted to do more testing. I am trying not to be paniced so I would like to know--What else could a mass on the kidney be other than cancer??? Please hurry with an answer as I am driving myself out of my mind with worry!
