Membranous Nephropathy medicine side effects

Recently diagnosed with Membranous Nephropathy after kidney biopsy. Supposed to be putting out 150mg/d of protein in urine and I am currently putting out 22,000mg/d of protein. Signs were: ankles swelling constantly making walking difficult, leg cramps when I wasn't swelling and foamy urine. Now that I have a diagnosis, I am on pill forms of Prednisone every other day and Cyclosporine 2x every day. I have been on the meds for over 1 1/2 weeks and noticed that the foamy urine amount has doubled, my face swells unbelievably, and walking is difficult, as the bottom of my feet and ankles cause me severe pain. I checked with my Nephrologist and she states that it will take a little while for my body to adjust to the medicine. Is anyone else having these side effects, and if so, how long did it take for your body to adjust to the medicine?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
Weight gain, fluid retention, mood swings, increased blood pressure and osteoporosis are few side effects of steroids. Cyclosporine may cause muscle pain, joint pains, heartburn etc. These two drugs form the mainstay of treatment. These side effects may gradually ware off. A low-salt diet and diuretics may help with swelling in the hands and legs. Low-protein diets may be helpful. A moderate-protein diet approximately 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day may be suggested. Discuss your concerns with your nephrologist.I hope it helps.
Best of luck and kind regards!
