Please someone answer one of my 2 posts----scared!!!!

Hi, I have posted 2 times on here and no one has answered.  I am very scared and I would just like to know what is going on.  I dont even care if I could possibly have CKD because I know it is very treatable I just want to know what is going on.  My bp has been very high (stage 2) for over 3 weeks now.  The lisonopril is not working for it.  I have had protein in my urine for the past 5 draws and half of that time there have been WBC w/o infection.  Please, Please, Please just read one of my other posts and answer me!  I am going crazy and it is probably making my blood pressure worse.  I mean how long am I supposed to wait for my bp to go down?  It seems like your heart would get tired of constant high bp and just decide to break or maybe your head will get so mad about it that it decides to blow and give you a stroke???? See what I mean about the stress?  My sons b-day is Friday and I cant even get excited about it because of this stuff. PLEASE help Me!!!! Thank you and I am so sorry to bug you with this!

Hello!  Thank you for answering!  I am confused about the iv potassium.  I do know that there is a definite link between potassium and kidney failure, but I thought it was that one had too much potassium.  I remember thinking that I would have to give up bananas which I love.  Can too little potassium affect you as well?  Can the high bp deplete the potassium?  It is definitely an interesting idea since no one has mentioned it before.  Please let me know more about this intriguing idea!  Thank you so much for your answer!

ask the doctor about iv potassium. It restarts a failed kidney. it may be of help, since that is a root cause

Hi, Thank you for answering.  I am so sorry about your bp, believe me I know how it is!  My overall cholesterol is 179 but my LDL is 107.  My doc thought my high bp might be stress/anxiety related so he put me on valium 5mg to be taken as needed and it has not helped one bit.  My mom's best friend is a nurse and she asked my mom if I had heart tests done and I have had an EKG, blood tests, and an echo stress test and they have all come back normal.  She told my mom that if my high bp is not heart related after I have had it all this time and it has been uncontrolled for so much of the time that it has got to be kidney related---hence being on this forum, along with the protein in my urine that has never been there before.  I also get bad headaches, dizziness, light headedness and I always have this strange ringing in my left ear and it just gets worse when my bp is up.

Why are you on this forum?  Do you have some kidney involvement going on?  Are you going to a nephrologist?  Do you have protein or bad kidney function blood tests?  What about kidney disease symptoms?  Let me know, maybe we can compare and try to comfort each other.  Plus my sister is an RN and whenever she calls or texts me back (which may be never since she is soooo bad about that!!) I will tell her about your situation also and see what she thinks.  She has had to work with a lot of dialysis patients so she really understands CKD.  Take care and thanks for the link, I will check it out!

Don’t fret I’m in the same boat. My BP is all over the map it’s gone as high as 180/108 and even tho I’ve gotten some REAL bad headache, dizziness ringing in the ears and light headedness. But I know that my Dr. is working on the problem and your Dr. is working on it to. Have you had your cholesterol levels checked? That can also be a factor in HBP as well as stress and anxiety bad cholesterol are LDL and shouldn’t higher than 100. Try to relax talk to your Dr. about it just remember that your Dr. is working on the problem. You’ll be ok.
I found that information on American Heart Association the link is below if you want to check it out http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Conditions/Cholesterol/Cholesterol_UCM_001089_SubHomePage.jsp
