Praying this is it!

Ok...here is my very quick story.  About 4 years ago I seemed to have developed an allergy to all kinds of foods and this was quite a surprise as I was always able to eat whatever I wanted.  All I know is over the past 4 years I have felt like crap almost every day.  I have visited 8 different doctors from an allergist, to a neuro surgeon, chiropractor, foot doctor, Gastrointerologist, my family doctor and a naturopath.  All of them wanted to put me on an anti-depressant and when I would refuse I was told "there is nothing more we can do."  I hate doctors right now.

Finally deciding I was on my own I have been fighting a laundry list of symptoms each and every day.  Some day wishing I would die as I was so misserable.

Insomnia
Reflux
Feet would sting/tingle and become numb.
Brain fog
unable to concentrate
constipation
severe abdominal pain
all kinds of food allergies
fits of rage
weight loss
muscle aches
severe joint pain
black spots in vision
depression
constant hunger
heart feels like it is going to pound out of my chest.
migraines
uncontrolable sweating.
eyes are always red and bloodshot

First I thought I was lactose intollerant and eliminated all dairy.  This did not help.   Next I thought I was suffering from a condition called Celiacs disease where a person is allergic to wheat/barely so I quit eating that stuff.  That did not help.  Next I eliminated all sugar as I thought I had candida...that did not help.  It would be next to impossible to find someone that ate any healthier than I did but I still felt horrible each and every day.

Last month I began to keep a food journal and I finally saw a pattern develop.  Each time I would eat a banana, pear, almonds, tomatos, apricots, orange, peanut butter..etc.. I would feel even worse.  I would begin to sweat, anxiety would go through the roof, undescribeable body aches and pains and so on.  Just by chance I ran across a website describing something called Hyperkalemia and adrenal fatigue.  Every symptom listed I had and noticed that each food I was eating was high in potassium.  BINGO!  Maybe I've discovered my problem.

My question is this.  How do I treat this?  I've been searching on the web for some home remedies and other than eliminating foods that are high in potassium I have started taking sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)  and have purchased something called "cell salt" which I'm told is all natural.  I've read that people with adrenal fatigue also need to increase their salt intake.

Here is a strange story as well.  Last year I was admitted into the hospital for an unrelated issue for 6 days.  The first thing the nurse did was place an IV so they could administer fluids.  I remember that on day 3 I got out of bed for the fist time to use the bathroom and when I looked in the mirror I instantly noticed that my eyes were as white as ever.  I was so excited.  It was at this time I also noticed that I did not have any body aches or pains and my mind was extremely clear.  I actually felt great and was able to think clearly.  IT took about 3 months but I distinctly remember noticing that all of a sudden my eyes were getting red again, the body aches and pains were returning and the brain fog was returning as well.  I tried to eat just like I did in the hospital but that did not help.

I finally decided that there was something in teh IV bag that made me feel so good.  All the IV bag had in it was a saline solution...salt water.  Anyway....if someone could tell me what has worked for them I would greatly appreciated it.  I do have an appointment with my doctor but cant get into see her until July 27 and I dont want to suffer for two more months.

Besides limiting high phosporous and potasium and salty foods. Many salt substitutes or low salt items contain a lot of potasium in them so read labels. Phorphorous is pretty much any pre-packaged food. I don't know what else to tell you. Be a bit careful as some herbals can hurt the kidneys. Salt, cell or otherwise is not a good idea if you have kidney issues. Also make sure you are drinking 1.5 to 2 litres a day of fluids mostly clean water. Especially since the saline helped so much you may be dehydrated. Hope you don't have kidney disease. As much as it would be nice to have a name for what you are feeling - kidney disease is a tough one.
