Reflux Nephropathy

by Ro_H, Feb 26, 2009 10:17AM
Hi. I have had Chronic Kidney DIsease (Reflux Nephropathy) for about 13 years now. When it was first diagnosed, after a lot of tests!, I had the STING operation, where they inject an inflammatory into the bladder where the tubes enter it, which was successful for a while. However, I still have frequent recurrent infections, and constant pain. It feels like someone is sticking something red hot and sharp into my kidneys. I have a lot of scar tissue on my kidneys from untreated infections when I was younger (everybody said I was faking). My GP keeps telling me that I should make an appointment to see them everytime I have pain, but if I did that I would be making appointments a few times a day. I almost always have protein and white blood cells in my urine, and am currently having more tests done. Is there anything they can do, or will I just have to cope with this for the rest of my life? Thanks. x
