Swollen pancrease and Stone in kidney

Hi,
My question is for my very dear friend. She is a Type 2 diabetic patient and recently shes been having some abdominal pain. She went to have a CT scan and the results were not that very good. Her doctor says her pancreas is swollen and that they found stones in her kidney. I'm worried about her. What does this mean? Hope to hear from you soon Thank you so much .

I do feel for you and your friend, you must be a good friend to support her like this. This reply is in no way from a doctors point of view and you should see your gp if in any doubt at any time.

Your pancreas are located in the back of the stomache between the spleen and small intestine, its job is to produce juices and enzymes to aid digestion and hormones that monitor your blood sugar.  The resulting back up of juices cause inflamation (inflammation).

There are many reasons why this can happen,and to find out why this has happened to your friend i think another trip to the gp sounds good.

Why dont you start writing down all the fears and questions together with your friend that you might have, as when we reach the gp office we can forget.

Talking with your friend can have a positive effect too, on both of you, this i would strongly encourage, and maybe together you can start on the road to health.
