Undescended Testicles and Reflux Nephropathy

My 14 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with reflux nephropathy Grade 4. She has lost much of the kidneys due to scarring and will need surgery. Both, our pediatrician as well as nephrologist have stated that the liklihood of one or more of our other children having this disorder is very likely. Our son, who is 6 years old, has undescended testicles (we noticed this since infancy) Our doctor said it usually corrects itself by the time a child reaches puberty. Is it possible that this could be a sign or symptom related to reflux nephropathy?
