Urinary retention after kdney surgery

by gidgetkennedy, Nov 03, 2009 04:58PM
My husband had a partial nephrectomy, 4 days ago.  They took the catheter out and then he peed a few times, but not he cannot.  He is on Percs, antibodies and poop medicine.  He has been sweating a lot, from the meds, drinking a lot, but no pee???

Hi,
How is your husband? After surgery and catheter removal, urinary retention may be observed as a result. However, if it persists, inform your doctors for proper management. Discuss with them what to expect to ease your worries. Take care and do keep us posted.
