Where does the history of brain aneurysms begin in PKD patients?

by Lori1221, Nov 04, 2009 02:31PM
I am currently writing a book about a young girl; age 19 who suffered a brain aneurysm last year.  Today, she has many neurological deficits because her aneurysm also caused her to suffer a mid-brain stroke.  With research that I have done on PKD and it's relationship to cerebral aneurysms, it concludes that without a history of aneurysms, PKD patients don't seem to be at a high risk?

Should every person with PKD be screened annually for an aneurysm?  How do we prevent what has happened to Ashley to not happen to someone else?  There was no history of aneurysms in Ashley's family and regular check-ups concluded that she was in good health with PKD.
