could pregnancy have caused my duplex kidney?

i had never heard of a duplex kidney before until i was admitted to hospital at 5 months pregnant and put onto an IV when they suspected my kidneys and scanned them i got the diagnosis that i had a duplex kidney on my right side, i have always had kidney problems threw out my life and at 19 i had a very very small kidney stone and was scanned then but yet they never brought up that i had duplex kidneys, i recently was told by a doctor that pregnancy can trigger a duplex kidney to start growing i was wondering if this is true and is there going to be any future discomforts with it seens as i have already been in and out hospital since i was 13 with kidney problems?
