dead kidney

A friend has a dead kidney the size of a football inside of her. She has been carrying it for at least 9 months because she just gave birth. People are dragging their feet in getting this dead kidney out. Shouldn't she seek better medical attention, or wait on the doctors who allowed this matter to exist this long?
