enlarged kidney

my daughter is 13 and was complaining of abdomenal (abdominal) pain.  she was given an ultrasound of the pelvic and upper abdomenal (abdominal) area.  The results showed an ovarian cyst on the pelvic ultrasound and an enlarged kidney for the abdomenal (abdominal) portion.  She has never had a uti, or any other health issues other than asthma.  What could this possibly be? very concerned..

Of course follow up with her doctor but I also had an ovarian cyst that caused extreme pain with the ultrasound showing an enlarged kidney.  I had to have my kidneys tested, they were fine.  I had surgery to have the cyst drained instead of removed and then a few years later had three healthy pregnancies and children.  Cysts are very common in females, the pain I had from my was horrible, a little lower than child birth on a pain scale.
