kidney cysts

by hope1956, Sep 02, 2009 06:49PM
4 months ago my urologist noticed blood in my urine and then
had an x-ray with a follow-up cat scan and discovered that I had
a large cyst on my kidney. The doctor said he was concerned.
The results of the CT scan w/dye determined that the cyst was
fluid filled. The doctor did not call me, instead had his nurse call
and tell me the cyst was fluid filled and to come and see hin
in 5 months. I still, occasionally have blood in my urine but
the doctor doesn't seem concerned. I do have frequent (daily)
upper leg pain near my hip. Is it normal for the doctor to not
even explain to me the seriousness of the cyst. I worry about
the cyst because I had prostate cancer 5 yrs ago and many of
my relatives have had and died of cancer at a younger age than I am.
Should I look for a different urologist?
