My brother is in need of a transplant and the nusrse after a series of u/a and blood tests asked me if I had been taking lithiumLithium Lithium carbonate Lithium citrate. I stated yes for about 6 months. She says it damages kidneys. I might not be a potiental donor. I have to go in and get another blood test done which I scheduled for about 4-5 days after the call. I also stopped the medication right after the phone call and told the nurse I was doing so. Question is will my blood tests still show damage after stopping the drug ( would I be considered for donation) and will my kidneys be permanently damaged.
