kidney problems

i have been suffering from side pain including terrible burning pain which starts from my lower side going half way up my left side, it also feels swollen that side to, i have times where symtoms make me feel strange. i had C.T scan which showed i have rather enlarged pipes that lead from the kidneys to the bladder. could this be the reason for this pain and what would be the cause
