kidney?

I am having this pain, sharp pain in lower right back, (2" below rib) only when I am laying down.
Rolling on either side doesn't help much

I would get it checked out by your family doctor. Sounds like it might have something to do with your kidneys, but better to have it looked at. Sorry I couldnt be of more help

Could be something as simple as a UTI (urinary tract infection) or bladder infection. Could be a kidney-stone. Could be a lot of things.

As the above said, you need to go and talk to a doctor.

With the little information that you've given, it points to your kidneys, but there's no way to determine exactly what you have without a medical work-up of some description.

Start with your PCP, and then move up to a Urologist.
