ultrasound indicates prostate enlargemnet
volume measures about 28 (cm 3)
what does means in medical term
also explain does this affect sperm count...
how does cancer get identify & with what test
On an ultrasonography, the entire volume of the prostate should be less than 20 milliliters. As, your value is raised, next step is to have PSA levels estimated. The normal range of PSA (prostate specific antigen) level is 0-4ng/ml. Based on these levels a biopsy may be planned for a confirmatory diagnosis.
hi , thanks for reply.
i had visited urologist
he said this is normal & you can be sure up to 40 years (now i am 30 )
he had put me on alfoo. for a month
but my question is does it affect sex in terms of sperm count etc...
Sperms are produced in the testis, so an enlarged prostate is unlikely to decrease the concentration of sperms, and nor does it affect the amount of sperm you produce. The sperms thus produced will be mixed with secretions from the prostate gland to form the semen. So, a prostate enlargement, does not affect the sperm count nor does it cause sexual dysfunction.
