is it possible that there could be something wrong with my father's prostate because of the presence of hemolyzed blood in his urine in his first urinalysis and non-hemolyzed blood in his second urinalysis?  in his latest K.U.B and prostate ultrasound, the result is norma. no masses, no stones, the sizes are normal....
thank u so much.......

Hi,

The presence of blood in the urine ( hemolysed or not) requires further evaluation .A prostate problem such as enlargement, inflammation or infection may be a differential. Other conditions to consider are a urethral injury and an underlying urinary tract infection.

However, test results have been by far normal. Has your physician decided to do a cystoscopy?
