very early signs of kidney failure/dysfunction

hi everyone.  i have been reading through and thought i would ask outright.  can anyone share a story of how they began to notice a kidney dysfunction.  besides urinary changes. does anyone here have pkd?  can you describe how you began getting sick?

Hi, I have just found out that I have a kidney problem due to a routine ultrasound which showed I have a shrunken left kidney with simple cysts, but I need investigating more and am waiting to see the doctors.  I didnt have any symptoms.

My husband has a chronic kidney disease and the first thing that made him aware was swelling in his feet, and terrible leg cramps.

At this stage regarding myself I dont know if it is pkd.
