My husband was diagnosed about six months ago, with stage 3 kidney failure. At that time his labs were so out of whack it was scary. After about two weeks on a strict diet and meds his labs were back to normal. He was only allowed chicken, fish and (hamburger only about 2 times weekly). No milk or dairy, dry beans, most processed foods and absolutely no processed meats, nuts of any kind. Cola, chocolate. It it easier to list the foods he is allowed, the no, no's are so many.'We got alittle relaxed thinking that the meds were taking care of it that his Dr. started to allow some foods back into his diet. Example, 8 oz milk, which he missed the most and a few other foods. Anyway, his last labs were back in the dumper! Now we are back to the strict diet, just hoping to keep some kidney function. I mention this because you mentioned some of these in your post. I realize that every case is different, but I suggest you consult a registered dietition to fashion a diet that meets your needs.Good Luck and God Bless.........
