5mm stone taking forever to pass- need advice

Hi all,   I had a dull ache in my right waist line since January. CT scan in April showed a 7mm stone at the junction of my kidney and ureter.  I had lithotripsy on April 30th.   It only took the 7mm to a 5mm.   Urologists said to drink lots of fluids and let's wait three weeks for it to pass.   Well, at the 3 week appointment, he said let's give it another 3 weeks to pass.   In the meantime, he started me on flomax.  I have been in so much pain the past 6 weeks.  It comes and goes.   Last week, it felt like it was in my bladder and pain was so intense a few times I almost vomited.   Now, I have constantly feel like I have to urinate but can only get a trickle out when I go to the bathroom.   The side of my vaginal wall feels like someone put a nail in it and hurts so bad.  Will a kidney stone make your vaginal wall hurt?    I just don't know what to do.  I can't keep living with this pain.   My next doc appointment is in 7 days.    What should I do?   My life has been on hold since the lithotripsy!    Also, our local outpatient hospital billed my insurance company $27,000 for the lithotripsy (anesthesia and urologists billed separately).  Seems a bit outrageous, am I wrong?   Thanks for the help!

My Lithotripsy and stent were $75000!! I'm wondering why you didn't get the stent with a stone so large?? Mine was a 10mm, and he did give me the option of not having the stent, but said he advised it, so I did. It was uncomfortable, but I think I will always do the stent.
I do not understand how a doctor could be letting you suffer!! I would choose a different doctor or be very assertive that he do something immediately!

If I were you, and I'm speaking from over 30 years and well over 40 stones of experience, I'd tell my Urologist to do something for me and do it NOW!! There is no reason that you should have to put up with this kind of pain for this long! I went through what you're going through last Spring and finally couldn't handle the on and off, sporatic severe pain anymore and had the stones removed. It was a mess but I was originally was treated in the VA Hospital and then had a civilian Urologist go take them out. It's your pain and as long as you have the insurance coverage, get them taken out and eliminate that pain for yourself.

Hey. I have been battling stones since my early 20s, I am now 37. Yes it can cause serve pain there. My last scope with lithotripsy was roughly 5 weeks ago. I have 2 stones stuck right inside. I felt like someone was constantly pinching me down there. I could not get comfortable at all. But he removed from when doing the scope. and .5mm stone is still somewhat large. When my dr does the lithotripsy he makes sure the stones are left to be tiny pieces. You may want to get a 2nd view on this.
I go this Thursday again for another lithotripsy. will be exactly 6 weeks since my last. My body creates stones very quickly. I feel your pain!!!!
Hope you get some relief very soon.
